Danielle Gaspar is a passionate and empathetic licensed professional counselor (LPC) committed to empowering others to become their healthiest selves through a holistic lens.
Danielle has her M.A in Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University where she gained experience working with adults with persistent mental illness during her graduate work. After completing her Master’s degree in 2014, Danielle transitioned to working with children, adolescents and families with mental health and behavioral challenges in different settings including at home, in school and in the community, which has become one of her specialities. Through this experience Danielle has learned that establishing a safe, nurturing and nonjudgmental environment helps establish a strong rapport.
Through this therapeutic relationship Danielle is able to guide clients to recognize, reflect, and work through conflict, maladaptive thoughts and mental health/behavioral challenges. In addition to Danielle’s training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems and multicultural perspectives, she works with her clients from an integrative therapy approach. She has worked with clients from varying walks of life, cultural backgrounds, as well as varying diagnosis.
Danielle is Portuguese speaking and has specialized in being able to meet these language and multicultural needs. Danielle understands the complexities of being human and how they each play an integral part of who we are. She helps her clients feel seen and heard. Danielle believes the mind, body and soul play an interdependent role in each person’s life and when clients are in touch with these three aspects of their lives, they feel connected, whole and like the healthiest version of themselves. Making the decision to go to therapy can be a very emotional decision and takes courage. Danielle will empower you throughout the therapeutic process to embrace who you are and where you come from, meanwhile therapeutically helping you overcome your challenges to heal, grow and feel fulfilled.
